It manages the experiment sequence and results documents displays, as well as other components specific to the instrument type (such as calibration and geometry). A navigation bar is used to switch between these options. See chart below.

Accessing the File Manager

The view buttons on the bottom of the File Manager navigation pane correspond to the available views, such as Experiment, Results, and Geometry. Depending on the current view, a different set of panes, lists, toolbar, and information for those sections are displayed. The contents of the navigation pane change depending on the connected instrument type, if online. Each view offers access to information pertaining to that view and options for accomplishing tasks within that view. For additional information, click on the desired topic.

The following views are available from the File Manager:

The File Manager pane remains open. It can be hidden or moved using the Options arrow.

To expand the internal list and show the steps within the file, click [ + ] next to the file. (Click [ – ] to collapse the internal list.)

For additional information on the navigation bar, refer to Customizing the Navigation Bar/Pane.

When an experiment or calibration is running, a green ball on the document tab indicates the "active" document. If you have navigated away from this document, there is a Go to active document icon on the Control panel toolbar that immediately returns you to this view.
